Fixtures and Results week-ending 16th August

Wins all round as Trinity record an excellent weekend of results.

Away at Langley, on Saturday, the 1st XI scored 199/7dec off 38 overs. Including a sparkling 82 off 70 ball from Zohaib Kahn. Trinity then proceeded to bowl out Langley for just 58. Rob Jones with 4 wickets and Zaheer Khan bamboozling a languid Langley with his left-arm spin, and taking 5 wickets for only 5 runs, to complete a comprehensive victory.

At home, the 2nd XI also delivered something of a thrashing to Warrington CC. The visitors were bowled out for 76. Mike Stopford’s return to form after injury providing the pick of the bowling with figures of 12-4-34-5. Trinity chased down the total with the loss of one wicket, Andy Fryer scoring 59no in just 16.3 overs.

On Sunday, the Ladies XI won by 6 wickets against Leigh. Emma Royle leading the attack with 3 wickets for just 4 runs off 6 overs. Leigh managed 84 runs off their 30 overs. Trinity chased the total down for the loss of 4 wickets. Jenny Dunn top scoring with 36no.

The 3rd XI completed the weekend of wins, defeating Didsbury by 3 wickets. Put into bat, Trinity scored 182 off the 40 overs. Tom Quinn top scoring with 51, ably supported by skipper Darren Shaw with 37. Didsbury couldn’t chase the total and were bowled out for 171. Young express bowler Jamie Herbert the pick of the attack, with figures of 8-4-13-4.
